Thirteen Lives

About this movie:-

The budget was approximately 55 million US dollar. These film is actually based on real event that is Thirteen Lives were made about caves (Sanctum) and rescue under water, here it should be noted the director's treatment of the situation where he decided to follow the narrative from the place of imprisonment, then there were further developments and rescue attempts, first by the local government, and then a wider, more extensive search , with the help of the Navy SEALS. The sound of flowing or dripping water is a constant reminder of the reality of the incredible danger that 13 lives are in, and the path to them is full of murky water that hides sharp stalactites and stalagmites, posing a huge risk to any diver. This, along with mountaintop drop-offs, makes rescue seem far-fetched. The path of the rescue dive, although the same, has several frames and angles, Sayombhu Mukdeeprom's camera shows an incredible knowledge of muddy waters and diving in general. His camera follows small drops of water to find their source and then dives comfortably into the dark depths, with the underwater scenes feeling claustrophobic in shades of dull greens and browns. Another important feature is the lack of music – instead the sounds are amplified to add to the claustrophobia underwater, or the joy and collective celebration at every small win, where the collective sounds blend together and heighten the rawness of the emotions flowing through. This is perhaps where this film shines, appealing to a collective sense of unease and relief. It can be said that there are scenes that could have been slightly cut in the beginning to speed up the pace, but it should also be noted that it would have detracted from the tone of the film later on.

The element of breath, the play of water and air, is seamlessly integrated into the narrative, such as when a person emerges from a dive and breathes fresh air, or when a teenager calms down through meditation and breathing. . This play of elements is what makes this film superlative and an absolute treat to watch, with almost documentary visuals that could very easily have been exaggerated and therefore callously dismissed the mass efforts of many in favor of individual heroism, but that's where it succeeds to create this film - the story of the collective effort that went into saving the lives of 13 others.

Thirteen Lives review

Summary of this movie:-

Thirteen Lives begins with a sense of impending doom as a bunch of soccer players, all kids, along with their coach carelessly drive down the road toward a huge cave. They keep their cycles on a rack near the entrance and move inside. It rains heavily for the next few hours and the water flows through the cave with such fury that the boys cannot get out.At home, their parents start to panic and word spreads quickly. The Governor and General arrive and deploy men to come up with a quick rescue plan.In Thailand, it's all about celebrating life. Blindsided by what awaits them, 12 soccer players and their coach decide to go on an adventure. Despite its live format and documentary style of filming, Thirteen Lives has more emotion and drama than fictional stories. Thai caves, despite their stunning beauty and almost magical appeal, pose the greatest danger to the lives of children who wanted to have a good time.

Unpredictable rain and floods cause the cave to fill with water, endangering the lives of these footballers. Thirteen Lives is a tribute to the human spirit and courage more than a chronicle of what happened that day in the cave.Ron Howard is a master at capturing raw emotion, especially when it comes to battling the ultimate adversary – Mother Nature and the plans of fate. Thirteen Lives boasts big Hollywood names like Colin Farrell, Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton, but their star power takes a back seat and puts the real heroes in the spotlight. Despite Howard's love of larger-than-life shots and a mammoth screen, most of Thirteen Lives is devoid of any superficial gimmicks. Every emotion is raw pain and anguish you feel for these children and thats real. Full marks to the technical team, which includes the score, cinematography and the research team, who tried to give the film an authentic feel from the first frame.

In addition to the drama during the rescue mission, Howard documents the situation outside the cave with equal interest. There are no overly loud moments to sap the tense moments. Instead, Howard focuses on what goes on in the minds of these rescue divers. There are heroes everywhere, including local boys who volunteer to help the rescue team search for the children inside the cave. Thirteen Lives is one of the best movies of 2022, and it works because it's engaging and full of edge-of-your-seat moments. The film is more than just a captivating watch.

What people think about this movie 🍿:-

(1) Undoubtedly good. It fails to capture some of the brilliance of the documentary, such as the timeline that was so well done in the documentary, the race against time The Water Race and the race against hopelessness. So well captured, I hope the film finds it. I was hoping that the movie could play a bit on the fact that they weren't super soldiers, but two ordinary men who have an extraordinary hobby to the point of being the best in the world at what they do. Where it was said, it was much more elevated in a documentary that is worth watching, but maybe a movie, the first documentary to the second.

(2) This isn't the most exciting movie ever made, but it has its moments and is undoubtedly a credit to the divers involved in the rescue operation, who are played with understated confidence by the 3 leads.

(3) This is an absolute must, it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, very well made and true to life, great acting by everyone including the kids, this is a force for good human effort to work together.highly recommend.
